Faith and the balance beam

2 Corinthians 5:7 instructs Christians to “… walk by faith, not by sight,” but learning to exercise faith in our everyday lives is always a challenge.

During a visit to her grandchildren in Texas, Andrea plays with her five year old granddaughter on a balance beam, describing how her granddaughter learns to trust her grandmother is behind her, steadying her and ready to catch her if she loses her balance, even though she cannot see or feel her.

Andrea then reveals how her granddaughter learning to trust her set an example for her in dealing with her own feelings of anxiety and discouragement as a result of her personal difficulties and trials. This realisation resulted in her coming to more fully acknowledge God’s love and care for her and His commitment to supply our needs.
