Europe: A future superpower

Bible prophecy relates many details about Christ’s return, but one important fact is often overlooked. A mighty superpower, far more influential and destructive than the ancient Roman empire, is prophesied to emerge on the world scene shortly before His return.

Can history and prophecy help us understand where the powerful European Union is headed? The rise of a final world superpower is foretold primarily in the biblical books of Daniel and Revelation.

Chapters 2 and 7 of Daniel contain prophecies of four world-ruling empires symbolised by beasts described as being like a lion, a bear, a leopard and a fourth beast unlike the others. Daniel explained these prophecies to Nebuchadnezzar, the King of Babylon. Many biblical scholars and historians admit that many of these prophecies have been fulfilled in the past, but what do those prophecies say about our future in the 21st century?
