Jesus Christ’s coming reign over the nations will bring vital transformation for the world. But while we wait for that wonderful time, we can experience and exhibit a measure of that change now.
Most Christians today have not lived beyond the borders of their homeland, struggled with language barriers or felt the quiet exhaustion of being a different nationality from those they live among. Yet Scripture describes God’s people as strangers, foreigners and pilgrims. To understand why, we may first need to step outside the comfort of feeling at home.
As nations drift further from God, the warnings of Jeremiah take on renewed urgency. Yet beyond warning of national decline and judgment, a powerful message of hope rings out—the hope of God’s Kingdom. Walking in Jeremiah’s footsteps, God’s people today proclaim not only impending calamity, but ultimate restoration, redemption and glory ahead.
