He’ll see us through

He’ll see us through

God has in mind a wonderful future for all of mankind. As God’s grace was shown at the beginning of creation so, too, will we see God’s grace at the end of the age. God’s plan will stand and come to pass as He said. Whatever dilemma we are in, God will see us through. We know that there is a purpose for everything that happens, and God knows all things.

With this in mind, do we have any responsibility toward God and our fellow man?

Don't lie to your children

Don't lie to your children by Reg Wright

Don't lie to your children

Are some lies really acceptable? As parents we may teach our children not to lie but what kind of message are we giving our children when we lie about the reality of Santa. When they eventually learn the truth, do we really understand the implications this lie has on our children's development of trust in us as role models.

Don't let it run your life

Christmas is known as a time for the giving of gifts especially to ones children and loved ones. Because of this there is a subtle pressure that we must give Christmas presents whether or not we can afford them.

We wouldn't want to disappoint our children or loved ones, would we?
Have you felt that pressure? Are you really sure you can afford to celebrate Christmas?

It is time we took a stand and not let Christmas run our lives.

He will dwell with you and will be your God

He will dwell with you and will be your God

How will you fare this coming year in the world today? We need Jesus Christ to be the ruler of our lives and for Him to be present with us. Contrary to what many may think and teach, Jesus Christ is not in the world, trying to save the world at this time. As we live in world rife with danger and temptation, we need to have Him fulfil His deepest desire - to dwell with us and be our God. Is that where Jesus Christ is?

This past Saturday was a spiritually uplifting but physical challenging day. Why, you may ask. Not only was it a weekly Sabbath but also an annual Sabbath of God – the Day or Atonement. Did you know we are commanded to fast on the Day of Atonement?

Our world held captive

Our world held captive by Reg Wright

Our world held captive

Our world is indeed a paradox – on the one hand there is tremendous good, but on the other there is tremendous evil. With all our wonderful progress, the world is in perhaps the biggest mess it has ever been in human history. It is held captive. But a time is coming when it will be freed from this captivity.

The Feast of Trumpets: A turning point in history

Today is the Feast of Trumpets. Why is the Feast of Trumpets so valuable to you personally, and for all humankind?

Did God ever command us to observe a Holy Day about trumpets and their significance to God's plan? Why do we call this Holy Day the Feast of Trumpets?

I love being a human

I love being a human by Bill Bradford

I love being a human

Do you love being a human? I do! We can experience love, peace and purpose. We can conceive of a future life in a future time and a future world. We can make choices and learn from those choices. We can believe and have hope in someone beyond our human capacity.

Not only do I love being human, I love being alive.

Faith, a miracle and healing

Faith, a miracle and healing by Bill Bradford

Faith, a miracle and healing

For years a man sat in the way where people passed to the Temple. He was born crippled, and relied on the pity of those going to the temple to worship to offer him some token of kindness. It never occurred to him that he would receive a miracle of kindness. The Apostle Peter gave him all that he had.

Why did Peter choose to heal the man on that particular day? We all need not only physical healing but also spiritual.

Pursuing peace

Pursuing peace

Most people don't realize that waging peace is more challenging than waging war! We have to work at peace – we must make it our goal and do all we can do to bring it about.

The Passover and unleavened bread reveals steps to salvation

Last week I wrote about how physical observances help us to understand the depths of God's spiritual plan of salvation. It is important to really understand God's plan of salvation as pictured in the Holy Day seasons, so I would like to continue our journey and discuss some astounding truths.

The first Holy Day season, Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread, is special in that it reveals and describes the two major steps a person must experience to attain eternal life.

Three days and three nights

Three days and three nights

Good Friday is the day that the Christian world in general commemorates the death of Jesus on the Cross, and the resurrection of Jesus is celebrated on Easter Sunday.

But was Jesus crucified on a Friday, and did He rise from the grave on Sunday morning?

Why do some Christians eat fish on Good Friday?

Why do some Christians eat fish on Good Friday?

When I was young my mother was always insistent that on Good Friday we would have fish and chips for dinner that night. When I questioned her and asked her why, her answer was that Jesus didn't eat meat on Good Friday and so we eat fish to commemorate that.

Do you know where this tradition of eating fish on Friday originated?

The power of the Passover

We need forgiveness of sin more than we need anything else. The power of the Passover by Bill Bradford

The power of the Passover

The man knew it was to be soon. The results of His teachings and works astounded people at the beginning. But, slowly, things began to change. The storm clouds were brewing. At the beginning He was popular, new, refreshing. Lame people walked at His Word. Lepers were cleansed, the blind were able to see for the first time, loved ones were raised from their deathbeds, and good news was declared to them as it came from God.

When Jesus came on the scene He preached a message of hope and deliverance.

What is the law of the rain?

Rain, in the Word of God is something God sends or withholds. What is the law of the rain? by Bill Bradford

What is the law of the rain?

Our weather scientists are able to explain weather patterns that affect our great agricultural industry in Australia. They are able to predict the amount of moisture we will receive from year to year through measurement of ocean temperatures, among other data. Predicting life giving rain leaves out one great factor. Rain, in the Word of God is something God sends or withholds.

The mind of Christ

"Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 2:5). The mind of Christ by Bill Bradford

The mind of Christ

Do you have the mind of Christ? As a human, the mind of Christ is perhaps the greatest of all things we can acquire but it doesn't come easily.

Why is there a history of so much suffering in this world?

Why is there a history of so much suffering in this world? by Ken Murray

Why is there a history of so much suffering in this world?

The reason why we have so much suffering in this world is because human beings have rejected and forsaken God and stubbornly will not turn and seek God now while He may be found. God has allowed humankind to write into history the vitally important lesson, that humankind's way, apart from God, does not work.

Prayer answered

Are you ready to have your prayers answered? Prayer answered by Bill Bradford

Prayer answered

" ... many people pray without any sense of assurance that there is a living and powerful God who hears their prayers, or that they are praying to a God who has offered forgiveness for their sins ...." commented Barna from the George Barna research company.

Sabbath-keeping in high school

Sabbath-keeping in high school by Chontelle Bent

Sabbath-keeping in high school

I remember the first time somebody asked me about my religious beliefs. I was about fourteen-years-old. For those of you who are past that age, think back to those awkward teenage years, when peer pressure was a daily issue, and the thoughts of those around you were constantly voiced; sometimes with detrimental effects and sometimes positive ones.
