The C-19 virus came from somewhere. We don’t know who the first person was who contracted it, but make no mistake, it flourished in a warm body. Then it went to another person, and then another and then everyone who came in contact after that.
People didn’t know what it was, until a doctor in Wuhan, China began to figure things out. This doctor was blamed for starting false rumors, but sadly, he got the disease, and died.
It spread to other countries, because those who came in contact with the virus travelled outside of China. The rest is history. It is highly contagious, and there is nothing to stop it—no medicine, no vaccine, not any great health practice—everyone is susceptible. You don’t want to go near a person who has it.
Now look at this.
“Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned”—(Romans 5:12).
Do you realize no one is exempt? All have sinned, we are told, and fall short of the glory of God. No law, no human authority, no wonderful intentions, no earthly power, no human logic or intelligence, or ingenuity can stop its spread. It all started from one man, and spread to all the rest of us. There is only one outcome, unless there is a miraculous cure.
The good news is there is something that will stop it in its tracks. God sent His only begotten son to expose where it came from and so that we would know we were enticed by the devil’s world.
Adam thought the devil had a point. God was unfair. God was unreasonable. Man became convinced he could, like the devil, devise a way for himself that was better. Adam got suckered into the devil’s world. Cain, Adam’s son, proved where the devil’s philosophy would lead. There was nothing to halt its appeal. The devil’s philosophy had a rich incubation environment among humans.
There were a few who resisted and preached against it—such as Enoch and Noah.
It got so bad—"the imagination of man was only continually evil”—we are told. God had no choice but to destroy the contagion with a flood. He isolated Noah and his family and gave Noah some controls over such a thing happening again. The devil still spreads the lies however. He tries to this day to get man to believe God was unjust by bringing on a flood.
One of the best defences against sin is to get as far from it as possible. Maybe we think we can get close to sin and it won’t affect us. Notice: “Make no friendship with an angry man, And with a furious man do not go, Lest you learn his ways and set a snare for your soul.” (Proverbs 22:24-25)
Quarantine it!
The only immunity we have against the contagion of sin, is the blood (death) of Christ that “cleanses us from all sin” (1 John 1:7) and secondly we receive life from the life of God as reflected in the life of Christ. Paul said, “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20).
Paul was freed from the hold of sin.
The Passover symbols of the bread and wine tell us this truth.
