Yes! Please Subscribe MeWe can have confidence from the Word of God that Judas Iscariot, although he betrayed Jesus Christ and later committed suicide, is not currently burning in eternal hell fire.
Many believe that a loving and merciful God has condemned millions to suffer torment for all eternity and that Judas Iscariot would most certainly be suffering this fate, considering the fact he betrayed our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. But is this really what the Bible teaches?
Although Jesus issued a powerful warning to the disciple whom he knew was about to betray him: “Woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been good for that man if he had not been born” (Matthew 26:24) the Bible is clear that Judas Iscariot is not currently suffering in an eternally burning hell fire.
In Romans 6:23, Paul explains the afterlife. Firstly, he tells us that “the wages of sin is death” —the unrepentant do not live in everlasting torture! Then the end of Romans 6:23 contains a contrasting statement that makes the conclusion even more certain: “the gift of God is eternal life.”
