Yes! Please Subscribe MeIn 2019 the annual Feast of Trumpets will be observed from sundown on September 29 to sundown on September 30 and looks forward to the return of Jesus Christ to this earth.
Why is the Feast of Trumpets so valuable to you personally, and for all humankind?
The Feast of Trumpets as one of God's Holy Days of the Bible pictures future times of both sadness and gladness. It teaches the essential steps leading to the establishment of the Kingdom and government of God on this earth -- over the nations of this world.
Why do we call this Holy Day the Feast of Trumpets? Let's read God's command:
"And in the seventh month [corresponding to our September/October], on the first day of the month, you shall have a holy convocation [a commanded worship assembly]. You shall do no customary work. For you it is a day of blowing the trumpets" (Numbers:29:1; Leviticus:23:24).
Scripture tells us that an earth-shaking trumpet call will announce the most important and exciting event that will ever happen to humanity -- the second coming of Jesus Christ and the 1st resurrection of those who love God and who have been faithful to Him in keeping His laws and way of life. (1 Thessalonians 4:16; Revelation 12:17; Revelation 14:12; Revelation 22:14; & 1 John 2:2-4)
This will be the great climax and turning point of all history!
Jesus Christ Himself describes His future return in Matthew:24:30-31
"Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other."
So we see here that Jesus Christ returns with power and great glory with the sound of a trumpet - a great sound.
We know from Revelation 11:15 that with the sound of the 7th trumpet Jesus Christ returns to the earth and takes control of all the nations of the world.
"And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever."
What also happens when the 7th angel sounds the great trumpet?
The incredible truth for faithful followers of Jesus Christ is found in 1Thessalonians 4:16 & 17: "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."
Yes indeed! With the sounding of the 7th trumpet, the 1st resurrection of God's faithful people, both dead and living, will take place. Let's look at another well-known scripture about the 1st resurrection and the 7th and last trumpet:
1 Corinthians 15:52 & 53: "In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality."
Notice again, that the 1st resurrection will take place at the sounding of the last trumpet - the 7th trumpet which we have just read in Revelation 11:15. Paul, in his letter to the Corinthian church clearly shows that at this last trumpet God's faithful – those who have died in the faith and those who continue to live in the faith – will be resurrected to eternal life and will see Christ as He is.
What a momentous time this will be! This is the next major step in God's wonderful plan of salvation for all humankind. The Feast of Trumpets represents the culmination of the present age of man and the beginning of a remarkable time during which God will play a much more direct role in world events. Indeed, this Festival, this Holy Day, signals the intervention of God in the affairs of humanity on a global scale. The Feast of Trumpets thus represents a dramatic turning point in human history – the return of our Savior and King, Jesus Christ, and the resurrection of God's faithful people.
How are we preparing ourselves for this turning point in human history? How are we preparing for the 1st resurrection and the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ?
Let's continue praying "Thy Kingdom come."
